WORKSHOP ANATOMY OF LIGHTWEIGHT STRUCTURES ВА2 20/21
The materials and technologies used in construction today are resulting in 50% of the world's resource consumption, 40% of carbon dioxide emissions and 50% of waste. Finding solutions to reduce the use of materials in structures contributes to the transition of the construction industry towards sustainable development. One of the main approaches to achieving this goal is the use of lightweight construction principles. The course "Anatomy of Structures" within the module "Technologies" of the second year of the Bachelor's degree at MARCH was devoted to the study of these principles. The course included the study of historical examples and theoretical foundations of lightweight structures, the creation of physical and digital prototypes and - as a result - the development, calculation and production of a full-scale didactic model illustrating one of the principles at a scale of 1:1.
